ABOUT

Taylor is a first-generation Asian-American, born and raised in Lancaster, PA by Vietnamese refugees. Her experience growing up at the intersection of multiple cultures instilled a deep appreciation for learning - as education was the largest force driving her family's (and her own) successes in the United States. She holds a B.M. in Music Education from Temple University, and an M.A. in Music and Music Education from Teachers' College Columbia University. 

Taylor performs regularly with Random Acts of Soul, providing live music to a variety of events. She is a classically trained flutist and pianist, with years of vocal experience as well. She is an active vocalist and instrumentalist in the Greater Philadelphia area.

Ms. Lam currently teaches classroom music at the Welsh Valley Middle School in suburban Philadelphia. She strives to provide each child with a high quality music education that draws upon shared community's experiences, interests, and expertise. She is actively engaged the community's work towards diversity, equity, and inclusion - particularly as they relate to Asian and immigrant populations. Ms. Lam previously held teaching positions at the Sadie Tanner Mossell Alexander University of Pennsylvania Partnership School (School District of Philadelphia), Play On Philly, Temple University Community Music Scholars Program, and the Nationalities Service Center. She also offers private studio lessons on flute, piano, and vocals.
